Statement by Attorney Khalid Hussain Al-Shatti
The practice of law requires a continuous process of transformation, adaptability, and development. It must reflect and keep pace with the growth of the nation and society, embodying their values, challenges, and aspirations. The increasing amendments to Kuwaiti laws—accompanied by various complexities across all branches of legislation—have made it clear that specialization is no longer optional but a necessity. It has become the foundation for delivering precise legal advocacy that assists courts and judges in rendering sound judgments. Practicing law in the twenty-first century—an era defined by digital transformation, technology, the internet, and artificial intelligence—poses a genuine challenge for lawyers and the legal profession. This reality compels practitioners to adapt by specializing in a specific legal field in order to preserve the core mission of the profession: advocating for justice, interpreting complex laws, and resolving disputes between parties. Accordingly, our firm — with over 32 years of experience — takes its first step toward specialization in criminal law, aiming to enhance efficiency and expertise, and to advance the practice of law. Specialization leads to deeper understanding and better responsiveness to emerging challenges, resulting in more effective representation for clients with complex legal needs and ensuring high-quality legal guidance. It also contributes to elevating professional standards and reinforces competence and credibility in case management.

We are also a member of the Arab Lawyers Union and the Kuwait Journalists Association since 2001, serving as a journalist specializing in legal, political, and strategic affairs, as well as combating extremist ideologies and terrorist movements. All this accumulated experience, supported by our prior student and union activities at Kuwait University, ensures that we possess not only theoretical legal expertise but also a comprehensive vision of professional, union, and legal mechanisms at the national level.
